The Georgia Geospatial Information Office (GIO) is in discussions to coordinate with local communities and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency to provide enhanced risk-assessments in support of local hazard mitigation planning initiatives using FEMA’s HAZUS-MH program. This program utilizes local Computer-Aided Mass Appraisal (CAMA) data as a primary input and models previously recorded or potential hazard events to determine accurate risk/loss calculations. If funded, this initiative is set to begin in October 2015.
