The Geospatial Information Office is seeking a Business Development Specialist.
This position will assist in the Office’s program management, capacity building, and sustainability planning. The position will help identify needs and opportunities to support current Office business and expansion of operations. This position will also assist the Geospatial Information Officer (GIO) and other team members with creating and executing sustainability plans for the programs that support the State’s foundational GIS datasets. These efforts will initially focus on the creation of holistic programs to support development of address and road centerline data, along with various administrative boundary files for the Georgia Emergency Communication Authority (GECA), preparing Georgia to migrate to a Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) ecosystem. This position will specifically help ensure the sustainability of the programs established to build and maintain NG911 mission-critical geospatial data, including helping drive an assessment of migration-related data creation costs and best practices.
In support of the NG911 system, the position will also help draft and manage sustainability plans for the Office’s Remote Sensing Data Programs (LiDAR and Aerial Photography). The Business Development Specialist will plan for future data acquisitions, manage stakeholder relations, and identify opportunities to improve programmatic cost effectiveness. In support of these efforts, the Business Development Specialist will coordinate stakeholders and leverage interagency synergies, while identifying and leveraging innovative funding sources and economies of scale.
