Enhancing Coastal Resilience with Green Infrastructure

The Georgia Geospatial Information Office (GIO) is coordinating with coastal Georgia agencies, including the Coastal Regional Commission, and has applied for a 2015 Regional Coastal Resilience Grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).  This grant, anticipated to be awarded in September of 2015, will help fund regional planning or implementation initiatives to build resilience of coastal regions, communities, and economic sectors to the negative impacts from extreme weather events, climate hazards, and changing ocean conditions.

More information about NOAA’s Regional Coastal Resilience Grant Program can be found on their website at: http://coast.noaa.gov/resilience-grant/.  More information can be found about the initiatives of Georgia’s GIO athttp://gio.ga.gov.
